About the CAC

The Colorado Asthma Coalition (CAC) is a consortium of healthcare professionals and community members committed to working together as a major force in solving the public health crisis caused by asthma.  As membership of the CAC has grown, the funding sources have also expanded to include governmental and foundation sponsorship including partnerships with the Environmental Protection Agency, Region 8 and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Beginning with the Asthma Summit in October 2000, the Colorado Asthma Coalition has envisioned serving as a catalyst to develop public education strategies, policies, and an advocacy agenda for asthma.

To facilitate the formulation of action plans and implementation, the CAC has elected a governing board of directors and established working committees, which include:

  • Public Education and Awareness
  • Data and Research
  • Healthcare Provider Best Practices
  • School Health and Childcare
  • Environmental and Occupational Health
